Whether visiting the western side on the Kennedy Loop 4WD Track or walking the trails on the eastern side, the ranges rise from the horizon with secrets to uncover.
The Junction Pub and Tourist Park welcomes visitors to Gascoyne Junction and is the place to stay and call home as you explore the Upper Gascoyne. Sample some of the incredible food prepared by Chef Omo. #junctionpubgrub Here you can also refuel your car and pick up groceries, souvenirs and auto items from their small range.
The waterhole has a special place in the hearts of all residents of Gascoyne Junction. It is a place to sit and watch the extraordinary range of birdlife that call the Upper Gascoyne home, or to sit in the evening and watch the milky way and the night sky above you. It is also a firm favourite for a dip.
Make sure you pop in at the Gascoyne Junction Historical Museum located in the Old Road Board building next to the Gascoyne Junction Community Resource and Visitor Information Centre. It is full of relics from the pastoral history of the area and the changes that technology has had on the way of life in this remote part of Australia.
The spectacle of wildflowers across the Upper Gascoyne is so easy to stumble upon from late July until the end of September. The landscape is carpeted with colour.
The world's biggest rock is pretty impressive. Visit Mount Augustus National Park in the north east of the Shire. Stay at the Mount Augustus Tourist Park which is dog friendly. Explore the trails year round and climb the summit trail from March to October each year.
